Roane State Foundation

The Roane State Foundation was founded in 1979 as a separate not-for-profit entity with the purpose of providing financial support for the students and programs of Roane State Community College. The Foundation seeks to enhance community awareness of the college, to secure private contributions and bequests, and to manage monies or properties given to the Foundation.

Governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, the Foundation provides financial support for college activities and scholarships. In order to make higher education accessible to all of our students in the nine counties Roane State serves, we have built and furnished campuses in Roane, Anderson, Cumberland, Knox, Loudon, Campbell, Scott, Fentress, and Morgan Counties.

The Roane State Foundation's latest project is the expansion of the Oak Ridge Campus with a new Health and Technology Building. When complete, this $13.8 million building will house 12 classrooms, nine labs, 38 faculty offices, an adjunct faculty area, three conference rooms, two lecture halls, 12 student study areas and two computer labs. The new building will also be LEED-certified for energy efficiency and have geothermal heating and cooling.  Completion on this new construction is tentatively planned for January 2014. The timeline for the new building is subject to change based on weather conditions and other factors. Whether classes will start in the new building in Spring 2014 has yet to be determined.  For more information go to http://www.roanestate.edu/?8117-Exciting-changes-are-happening-at-the-Oak-Ridge-campus.

You can make a gift that will benefit Roane State Community College students or one of our campus projects in the fuutre and receive guaranteed fixed income for life!  Your income payments may be considerably higher than your return on low-earning CD's and securities.  The Roane State Foundation is licenced to manage Charitable Gift Annuities.  Please look over our brochure and call us to learn how you can set this up.
