“When you are registering for classes you have to contact your success coach to get your registration pin. You will discuss what classes you are needing to take and get the course registration numbers. When you register for classes, you will go to your Raidernet page and go to registration, so be ready to login.” – Taylor

“I register online for my classes, usually on the first day of registration. You can meet with your Success Coach before registration begins to set up an academic plan just for you.” – Alyssa

“The Success Coaches are your go to for registering classes. Ask them questions about how you get help, what classes you need for your major and how to get financial aid. They’re here to tell every student everything that you need to know through your first 24 credit hours.” – James

“It is always a good idea to register for classes as soon as possible – They can get full pretty quick. To do this, you can meet with your Success Coach. You’ll register for your classes in Raidernet with CRNs (Course Registration Numbers) and your registration PIN.” - Breanna

“When enrolling for classes, it is always best to do it as soon as possible as they fill up quickly. Make an appointment to meet with your Success Coach so they can assist you in registering for the classes you need.” – Malea

“Talk to your Success Coach about registering for classes. You can set up a meeting by going into your RaiderNet, clicking your Success Coach’s name and scheduling a meeting, emailing them or going to your campus when they are scheduled to be there and scheduling a meeting right then and there.” – Megan

"Normally, I will make an appointment with my success coach and see what classes I need to take and get your PIN. Then I will look at the class schedules and see what class and professor I want to take, then pick my classes." – Sarah

How do you contact your instructors?

“You may contact your instructors through Raidernet student email (outlook email), Momentum email or visiting Office Hours set by your instructor.” – Taylor

“I contact most of my instructors through Raidernet email (outlook email), unless they have asked to be contacted via Momentum instead.” – Alyssa

“You’ll want to email your instructors in Raidernet (Outlook email). You can find their contact and office hours listed on the syllabus they give you the first day of class. You can go visit them in person during office hours or text them if they give you a number in their contact information.” – James

“To contact my instructors, I go to Raidernet to get on my school email and contact them through email, or I see when their office hours are and go ask my questions in person.” - Breanna

“Contacting your instructors, you can go through your Raidernet student email, or you can check the syllabus that you receive on the first day, for what they prefer on how to contact them.” – Malea

“On your syllabus, there should be a phone number with an extension to their office phone or you can email them on Outlook (RaiderNet) or in Momentum.” – Megan

"I contact my professors through my Raidernet email, normally they will state what email or phone number they want you to contact them through." – Sarah

What are virtual classes like?

“To me virtual classes are tough if you are really busy, but if you stay on top of your work and assignment due dates, you got it!” – Taylor

“If they are taught via Zoom, they are similar to on-campus classes. Some virtual classes have a set meeting time for the class lecture via Zoom and the professor/instructor will post online assignments through Momentum. Other virtual classes may be taught directly through Momentum by completing assignments and doing research independently – There are no set meeting times for these types of classes and you’ll be expected to keep up with assignments on your own.” – Alyssa

“The first time I had a virtual class, I struggled in the beginning. My instructor worked with me and was polite. He understood that I was struggling and it was nice that he was helpful with teaching me what I needed to know. You can also get help at the Learning Center. The Learning Center has been a tremendous resource for me.” – James

“I have never taken a virtual class, but I have had online assignments that are submitted in Momentum – This is a separate login next to the Raidernet link.” – Breanna

“Having a virtual class can be different for everyone. I personally have had some and it has been good for me. I would recommend the online classes (non-zoom or meeting times) so I can work at my own pace and be free during the day to work. You'll be expected to complete tasks independently and turn them in on time – So don’t forget to keep up with due dates!” – Malea

“In my opinion, they are tough but not impossible; However, if you stay on top of your work and ask questions when you need to – you should be just fine. Remember these 2 things: Your professors want you to succeed and the Learning Center is free!” – Megan

"Personally, I prefer in person classes, I learn better when I can ask questions and get immediate answers. If I had to take online classes I would choose ones that meet through zoom." – Sarah

“It depends on where you are from – If you are from Harriman, TN, then you already know. You can go watch Baseball games in the Spring. You can do your laundry, chat with friends or go eat Mexican food with your girl, that is, if you have one.” – James

“On weekends when I get home from school, I make sure all of my work is done, and if I have school work to do, I make a list of my responsibilities within the next few days. Planning is important! On Sunday afternoon I make sure everything is completed and ready to be turned into my instructors.” – Breanna

“I normally spend around 4-6 hours each day studying and an additional 2-3 hours on assignments after class (trying to stay caught up for the next week!) I’ve learned not to fall behind in class, it’s tough to catch up when you do.” – Alyssa

“This depends on how many classes you are taking and what your schedule is like. The school has everything you need to pass all your classes. The only thing you need to do is to commit to your work and you’ll be good buddy. Every night I study my class material for about two hours.” – James

“I study at least 6 or more hours a week. I try to study for each class twice a week or more to keep caught up and my mind fresh for exams.” – Breanna

“I try to spend about 2-4 hours each day throughout the week. If I have an exam coming up, I might spend a little more on that subject than my others to keep my mind refreshed.” – Malea
