Roane State Foundation

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Roane State Foundation offices are closed beginning Wednesday March 18, 2020 until further notice, per Tennessee Board of Regents and College policies and expectations. We will maintain core business activities to the extent possible, working remotely, and request that you reach us via email as needed. Our team will get back in touch with you as soon as possible given the circumstances. We would also strongly encourage making a gift to the Roane State Food Pantry or to the Foundation's Pay-It-Forward Program: Emergency Aid to support students in need during this challenging time. Thank you for your support of Roane State Community College students.

100% For Students

The Roane State Foundation was founded in 1979 as a separate not-for-profit entity with the purpose of providing financial support for the students and programs of Roane State Community College. The Foundation seeks to enhance community awareness of the college, to secure private contributions and bequests, and to manage monies or properties given to the Foundation.

Governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, the Foundation provides financial support for college activities and scholarships. In order to make higher education accessible to all of our students in the nine counties Roane State serves, we have built and furnished campuses in Roane, Anderson, Cumberland, Knox, Loudon, Campbell, Scott, Fentress, and Morgan Counties.

The staff of the Roane State Foundation are dedicated to helping RSCC students succeed. For the 2016-17 academic year, we have awarded over 330 scholarships for fall/spring/summer. Through our Pay-it-Forward program we have also awarded 28 emergency awards, 21 license exam fee awards, 15 finish line scholarships, and 6 adult student aid awards. 17 scholarships were awarded for Middle College students and 95 were awarded to students taking dual credit classes in our service area.

We want all our students to reach their goals and receive the diploma or certificate of their chosen programs. If you are a student on the Roane County Campus and financial stress is hindering you from getting to class, DON'T GIVE UP; you may qualify for Emergency Aid from the Pay-it-Forward Program. To find out if you qualify for assistance, contact Tina Long in the One-Stop. If your classes are in Oak Ridge, contact Melodie Johnson in the Oak Ridge Campus One-Stop. Students taking classes at one of our other satellite campuses should contact your Campus Director for assistance. All recipients are required to complete the Foundation online scholarship application and sign a pay-it-forward form.

The Roane State Foundation is also licenced to manage Charitable Gift Annuities. You can make a gift that will benefit Roane State Community College students or one of our campus projects in the future and receive guaranteed fixed income for life! Income payments to you are usually considerably higher than your return on low-earning CD's and securities. Please look over our brochure and call us to discuss establishing your charitable gift annuity.

We are very happy to have Scott Niermann on board as the Executive Director for the Roane State Foundation. Meet Scott here.
