All Roane State locations will be closed Monday, May 29 for Memorial Day.
The Roane State Foundation was founded in 1979 as a separate not-for-profit entity with the purpose of providing financial support for the students and programs of Roane State Community College. The Foundation seeks to enhance community awareness of the college, to secure private contributions and bequests, and to manage monies or properties given to the Foundation.
Governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, the Foundation provides financial support for college activities and scholarships. In order to make higher education accessible to all of our students in the nine counties Roane State serves, we have built and furnished campuses in Roane, Anderson, Cumberland, Knox, Loudon, Campbell, Scott, Fentress, and Morgan Counties.
The staff of the Roane State Foundation are dedicated to helping RSCC students succeed. For the 2016-17 academic year, we have awarded 244 scholarships for fall/spring. Through our Pay-it-Forward program we have also granted 18 emergency awards, 21 license exam fee awards, and 2 finish line scholarships this fall. For Middle College students, 15 scholarships were awarded for fall. 95 additional scholarships were also awarded to students taking dual credit classes in our service area. We want all our students to reach their goals and receive the diploma or certificate of their chosen programs. If you are a student on the Roane County Campus and financial stress is hindering you from getting to class, don't give up. To find out if you qualify for assistance, contact Dr. Jamie Stringer in the One-Stop. If your classes are in Oak Ridge, contact Melodie Johnson in the One-Stop. If your classes are at one of our other satellite campuses, contact your Campus Director.
The Roane State Foundation is also licenced to manage Charitable Gift Annuities. You can make a gift that will benefit Roane State Community College students or one of our campus projects in the future and receive guaranteed fixed income for life! Income payments to you are usually considerably higher than your return on low-earning CD's and securities. Please look over our brochure and call us to discuss establishing your charitable gift annuity.
