- Federal
- Students wishing to receive federal financial aid must apply by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) . Students at Roane State may be eligible for Federal Pell, FSEOG, or Federal Direct Loans. Roane State does not pre-package loans into the student's financial aid award package. The student must complete a Student Loan Information and Amount Acceptance form in their RaiderNet account.

- Institutional scholarships are administered through the Roane State Foundation. The Foundation provides a separate scholarship application, found here. Scholarships may be available based on various criteria. Interested parties should contact the Foundation Office at 865-882-4507.

- Students receiving private scholarships may have funds applied to their account by having their scholarship payment sent to the Financial Aid office along with the student's name, R Number (Student ID Number) and information regarding the terms of the scholarship.

- Disbursements
- Disbursement of any excess financial aid is handled through the Business Office. Students must choose the method for distribution (paper check by US mail, direct deposit to a bank account of the students choosing, or applied to a school issued debit card) through their RaiderNet account. Disbursements are not made before the 14th day of classes, and are dependent upon reported class attendance by all faculty.

- At Roane State Community College, academic records are considered confidential. The college’s policy regarding the use and release of student records is governed by Public Law 93-380, the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and the Tennessee Public Records Act. Under the terms of these laws, the college and its employees are charged with protecting the confidentiality of the educational records of its prospective students, currently enrolled students, and former students. The college is empowered to disclose relevant portions of student records to faculty and staff determined to have a legitimate educational interest. All exceptions to this policy, including disclosure to external persons or agencies, shall be administered by the Registrar, the Vice President of Student Services and Enrollment Management, the Vice President of Academic Services, or the President.
